A template is a specific design turned into a form: you change the photo, the name or the slogan and get the same design with your details, ready to print.
Step by step
- Open the Templates category from the home page or the Tools menu and pick one.
- Fill in its fields. Each template has its own (a photo, a headline, one or more lines of text…) and many come with sample text you can change.
- Check the three options at the end, common to every template:
- Format (
aspect_ratio): square, landscape or portrait. "auto" keeps the template's own shape. - Speed (
speed): "fast" takes about half the time; "normal" takes longer for extra detail. - Remove background (
remove_background): returns a PNG with a transparent background. "fast" is the quickest; "balanced" takes a few seconds more and is better at keeping lettering and small detached elements.
- Format (
- Check the cost on the "Run" button and run it.
The result keeps the composition and style of the original design, with your details in it.
Tips for filling it in
- Keep your text about as long as the sample text. A five-letter name where there was a five-letter name fits perfectly; a twenty-five-letter one can throw the layout off.
- Use sharp, front-facing, well-lit photos. If the template keeps the photo as it is instead of redrawing it, this matters even more.
- One person or pet per photo field, unless the field takes several photos.
- Try with "fast" while you adjust photos and text, and run the final version with "normal".
- If a typo shows up in the text (a missing accent or comma), run it again.
