Frequently asked questions

Which platforms can I download from?

Anything yt-dlp supports — YouTube, TikTok, Instagram (public reels and posts), Vimeo, X, Twitch VODs, and many smaller platforms. Private or login-walled content is not supported.

Why use these instead of running yt-dlp myself?

Three reasons: yt-dlp is a moving target (platforms change their internals weekly and the binary needs frequent updates), it's a chunky native dep you don't want shipping in your CI image, and the URL Metadata tool lets you decide whether the download is worth it before committing storage.

What does the OpenGraph scraper return?

Title, description, og:image, og:video preview, Twitter Card fields, canonical URL, and the page's primary language. Useful for building rich-link previews, auto-populating share cards, or seeding vision-language model prompts from a URL.

Is there a quality / resolution selector for video downloads?

Yes — pick a tier (e.g. 360p, 720p, 1080p, max) and the tool grabs the closest available stream. For the audio-only extract, the format selector accepts MP3, WAV, AAC, OGG and FLAC.
